Week One

I would like to create a laptop that has a little printer in/attached to it. In theory it would be for last minute printing or printing on the go. The laptop size would be the size of a piece of computer paper and therefore could fit on the back perfectly. I envision it, printing out from the top and loading the paper on the bottom.

It would be a very beneficial product in the up and coming information era that we are in. People today are always on the go and I feel this would tend to people's needs very well. Not to mention that technology plays a huge part today and even though we will always be printing things, the use for actually printing paper will decrease. People will rely on emails and digital copies of everything. This relates to class from last week because we were talking about entrepreneurial and innovation and I think my product could be both of those. This is a product I believe in and would try to promote within the industry.

  1. I could see this being very useful for the student that is running into class and still has to make some last minute adjustments to a paper that they need to hand in at the end of class. As computer components get smaller and smaller, i think that this could be achieved there are already some pretty portable photo printers being produced by HP. Good post - overall just make sure that you are relating them back to the lecture (specifically for this post social media)

  2. This is a clever idea, especially for people our age. This would be a very handy tool to have for any last minute things that a person has forgotten. I think that there would be a lot of planning and thought that goes into this idea to make it successful. But overall, I think it could be popular.

  3. I like this idea a lot because it provides a simple mobile printing solution. No longer would people have to figure out exactly how to connect to a printer, but instead could simply load paper and ink into their computer. The one issue you may run into is the hardware for a product like this. Despite the miniaturization of just about everything, printers remain relatively large comparatively. It would be difficult to have a printer attached to the computer and maintain the computers appeal to everyday users. You would likely sacrifice some overall size on the computer, perhaps too much for your end goal. Overall however, this is a unique and interesting concept. Good Luck!

  4. I find I have to constantly call tech service about my brand new printer. Modern printers are still so clunky. Sure, you can get a laser printer for a hefty fee, but for a student or someone with a home office, who wants to spend thousands on a printer that is unnecessarily expensive. This is also good for people who are mobile and travel.

  5. What a great concept. Crucial for when students have forgotten they need to print something on the way to class and dont have the time to get to the computer clusters. Extremely innovative and can be pretty cost effective as printers are not very expensive. The only hurdle i see is where would you put the ink?
